BRIMSTONE STORE · DEBIAN INSTALLER

Your music.
Room to grow.

Install Debian and Store together. Storage on its own machine; your catalogue and playback stay with Core.

Ordinary writable DebianNo A/B/C slotsStore included

Storage, separate from playback.

Connect to Core

Pair using a short-lived Add Store code. CoreFS advertises your logical library and maintains the paired connection.

Familiar storage protocols

NFSv4, encrypted SMB 3.1.1, HTTPS WebDAV and DLNA/UPnP services are included. NFS remains closed until valid pairing.

Keep Debian familiar

A normal writable system with Debian package management. No immutable OS slots, recovery-slot switching or Git installation procedure.

INSTALL DEBIAN AND STORE

Boot. Install. Open Store.

Use a dedicated x86-64 computer or full VM. Start with a 32 GB or larger system disk and at least 2 GB RAM; allow more memory for larger libraries and ZFS. Internet access is required during Debian package installation.

  1. Download and verify the ISO

Download the image and its SHA-256 checksum. Write the ISO to USB or attach it as the VM’s installation disc.

  2. Follow Debian’s installer

Choose language, network and machine administrator. Select the intended system disk and carefully review the partitioning confirmation. Keep valuable media disks disconnected during a fresh install.

  3. Restart into Store

Remove the installation media and boot the installed system. First-boot setup loads the included Store services. The operating system remains writable and normally maintainable.

  4. Use your own administrator password

The installer generates a unique Store web password; there is no shared factory password. Log into the machine account you created and read the protected access details with sudo cat /root/brimstone-store-admin.txt. Open the Store address shown there on your trusted LAN.

  5. Pair and commission

Create an Add Store code on Core, then enter the Core URL and Store callback address in Store. Test a disposable library and reconnect before adding valuable media. No production library is included or automatically adopted.

Use the local network. Do not expose Store administration directly to the internet. Use a trusted LAN, VPN or managed HTTPS reverse proxy.
BETA STATUS

What this installer delivers.

Installer qualification

The clean-install test passed: writable Debian root, first-boot Store setup, unique administrator password and web login. The disposable second disk was unchanged. BIOS installation is qualified; full UEFI installation and physical hardware still need individual checks.

Store application checks

The runtime source passed 250 isolated regression tests, with two warnings. Populated-library acceptance, storage hardware, backup recovery and cloud providers still require commissioning for your installation.

Storage, not a new audio gateway. Roon/RAAT receiving, OAAT and replacement Sooloos-controller server support are not new features of this release. Native Meridian playback remains in Core.
